Founded in 1937, Daewoo Corporation of South Korea has always represented the development level of South Korean mechanical industry, creating recognized achievements in fields such as diesel engines, excavators, vehicles, automatic machine tools, and robots. In terms of diesel engines, it cooperated with Australia to produce marine engines in 1958, and partnered with Germany's MAN to launch a series of heavy-duty diesel engines in 1975. It established Daewoo Europe Factory in 1990, Daewoo Heavy Industry Yantai Company in 1994, and Daewoo Heavy Industry USA in 1996. In April 2005, Daewoo officially joined South Korea's Doosan Group.
Daewoo diesel engines are widely used in national defense, aviation, vehicles, marine vessels, construction machinery, and generator sets, and are recognized worldwide for their small size, light weight, strong resistance to sudden load, low noise, and economic reliability.
