- Diesel generator rooms shall be separated from other areas by partition walls with a fire resistance rating of not less than 2.00 hours and floor slabs with a fire resistance rating of not less than 1.50 hours.
- An independent oil storage room shall be set up, with an oil storage capacity not exceeding the 8-hour demand. Measures shall be taken to prevent leakage and oil spillage, and the oil tank shall be equipped with a vent pipe (connected to the outdoors). The oil storage room shall be separated from the generator room by a fire wall; if a door must be installed in the fire wall, a self-closing Class A fire door shall be provided.
- Independent fire separation shall be adopted, and fire compartments shall be divided separately.
Configuration of Fire-Fighting Facilities:
- Fire hydrants, fire hoses, and fire nozzles are installed outside the room.
- Oil-type fire extinguishers, dry powder fire extinguishers, and gas fire extinguishers are placed inside the room.
- Prominent "No Open Flames" safety signs and text are displayed.
- A dry fire sand pool is provided inside the room.
- Isolation measures shall be taken from oil depots.
- The distance between the generator set and buildings or other equipment shall be at least 1 meter, and good ventilation shall be maintained.
- Emergency lighting and emergency indicators shall be installed; for basement rooms, independent ventilation and fire alarm devices shall also be equipped.
